ENOSHIMA is a beautiful island! by Miya

To fully enjoy sightseeing, you can’t miss out on tour at Enoshima island and other facilities. Enoshima - one of the most beautiful places in Kanagawa Prefecture. It is a favorite destination for residents of the capital in summer. This is explained by fact that the island has a whole bunch of places of interest - historical, cultural and entertainment. On the hill of the island there are several shrines, whose names are entered into the history of the country.

Some days ago I visited Enoshima island. The weather was wonderful – a pleasant sunny day and the company were just as wonderful! The spot from which I started my exploring that charming island was Enoshima Aquarium.

The attractions include the Sagami Bay Zone, Deep Sea Corner, Cold and Warm Seas Zone dolphins and sea lion shows.

The penguin exhibit is popular not only with the children, but also with the adults. And I know “why?”, because they are so "kawaii" (cute).

For me, the most memorable thing was Jellyfish Fantasy Hall with many amazing jellyfish species.

I really enjoyed the aquarium - seeing all of fish was informative. And I think Enoshima aquarium is a nice place to visit it with the family. The children can also have fun and learn more about the sea.

From the old days, Japanese believed in there is a tradition of asking God for protection from evil spirits and a speedy recovery from illness.

I was surprising monkey show. It was really fun.

Here is the top - Enoshima Samuel Cocking Garden. The garden was established in the 19th century by British merchant Samuel Cocking as the Enoshima Botanical Garden and featured a greenhouse in which he collected amazing tropical plants from around the world.

The Enoshima observation Lighthouse is a symbol of the Shonan area. The top of the tower is about 60 meters high and 120 meters above sea level. It has a magnificent view of the coast. Ms. Fuji can be seen on a sunny day.

I spent a very pleasant time visiting this island. It was a great day! I recommend visit the Enoshima. You can have a good time with your friends or family. You can see many sights and walk along the bridge to the mainland and enjoy the superb view of the ocean. It is wonderful! As for me, I would like to visit Enoshima again and again in the near future.

After the Aquarium, I went to Enoshima Island. This small island has a length of coastline just 4 km away and is connected to the main island by two 600-meter bridges. One is for pedestrians and one is for cars.

At Enoshima there is only one narrow street with small souvenir shops and restaurant of local cuisine along it.

Through these gates you can climb up by steep stair to the top of island or for those who do not have enough spirit, there is always an escalator.

There is also Zeniarai spring. The Shinto priests wash their money in a bamboo basket and toss them in a box (zenibako) at the foot sculpture of a dragon. This custom of giving money to the god is expecting bring you back more money.

One interesting thing about of the first temple is the gates of happiness. There is a diagram on the right showing how go through it. If you pass through these gates three times correctly, happiness is guaranteed.
